Pterygoid Implants Workshop


COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course entails theoretical and practical introduction to advance implant reconstruction by implementing implant placement at the pterygomaxillary region.

 

SATURDAY

8.30 am – 9.00 am:     Breakfast (provided), registration, get acquainted

9.10 am – 11.00 am:   Lecture on pterygoid implants. 

11.00 am – 11.15 am: Break

11.15 am – 12.30 pm: Laboratory workshop: Placement of pterygoid implants at the

pterygomaxillary region on stereolithographic models.

12.30 pm – 1.30 pm:   Lunch (provided)

1.30 pm – 5.30 pm:     HUMAN CADAVER workshop. Place pterygoid and zygomatic implants

                                    with the extramaxillary approach

                                    (2 zygomatic and 1 pterygoid implant per participant)

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

·  Understand the potential and limitations of pterygoid implants

·  Understand the anatomy of placing pterygoid implants

·Have an exposure and workshop experience on placing zygomatic implants

· Have the human cadaver workshop experience on placing pterygoid implants

·Treatment plan full arch implant cases with pterygoid implants

·Understand step-by-step prosthodontic reconstruction of pterygoid implants

·Understand prosthodontic design principles for pterygoid implants

·Have an exposure on modeless all-digital workflow for full arch implant reconstruction

·Obtain an insight on current and classic literature on pterygoid implants
